R.I.S.E. For Moms

R-Relational I-Intentional S-Spiritual E-Encouragement

R.I.S.E. for moms at Kenwood is kicking off our second year of ministry this month! We are so grateful for the chance to meet and be in community together. Just as a reminder-R.I.S.E. is open to moms of ALL AGES!

R.I.S.E. for moms is a sisterhood at Kenwood Baptist Church that welcomes all moms to experience a deeper relationship with Christ, building friendships in a multigenerational and multicultural community, and empowering one another in the gospel.

The theme for RISE for Moms this year is Abiding in Christ To Bear His Fruit and the theme verse is John 15:5, "I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing."

We are launching our home meetings of the year in our various groups throughout the city (see registration below for more details). Groups will meet twice a month (every other week on the meeting date for the group location).

When you register through the link below, you will have an opportunity to choose your group based on location or day of the week- it is a first-come, first-serve registration, so those registering earlier will likely have a greater chance to receive their first choice. You will get to meet your group facilitator and host team along with your fellow group members at your first in-home September meeting.

LIVES of ISAAC, JACOB, and JOSEPH 10-week Thursdays 7:00 PM ZOOM

Join us for this ten-week Zoom class on Thursday evenings at 7:00 PM, as Pam Roberts and Rosalie Castleberry lead us in viewing the lives of Isaac, Jacob, and Joseph.

Aren’t you glad God gives second chances? In the last half of the
book of Genesis, we will explore the lives of Isaac, Jacob, and Joseph
and see how God turned events that could have been tragic into good
– especially for the survival of His People.

THE LIFE OF MOSES 10-week class at Kenwood Thursdays 9:15–11:00 AM

Lois Bascom will teach on the life of Moses. What was special about
Moses? Why is his name recorded in the Bible 846 times, in 18 books of the Old Testament and 12 books of the NewTestament? Is there something God wants us to learn from Moses’ life? We will explore
together the treasures God wants us to find and apply to our lives.

THE GOSPEL OF LUKE 10-week class at Kenwood Thursdays 9:15–11:00 AM

Carlene Naughton will teach on the Gospel of Luke. We all love looking
through photo albums to get a sense of the history and character of friends and family. Luke has presented to us a “photo album” with
“snapshots” of Jesus that illustrate who He is, what Heis like, and why He came. As we study this Gospel together and see how Jesus lived, died, and rose again, our goal is to know Jesus better, love Him more, and allow Him to transform us.

FIRST AND SECOND THESSALONIANS 10-week class Thursdays 9:15–11:00 AM

Susan Rice will teach on Paul’s letters to the Thessalonians. The early days of a project can be full of excitement. But as time goes on, we need to adjust to unexpected challenges and keep our eyes on the goal. Paul wrote these two letters to the young church at Thessalonica in order to
redirect their daily behavior and correct their beliefs as they waited for
the Lord’s return.
