Choir Accompanist
Are you a talented pianist looking for a rewarding opportunity to share your gift? Kenwood is seeking a dedicated choir piano accompanist to join our vibrant worship team. We are a loving and caring church with an environment that will nurture you and your talents. If you're passionate about music and eager to support our choir in creating beautiful worship experiences, we’d love to hear from you! Together, let’s create special musical moments in worship.
Responsibilities:
• Accompany the choir during two rehearsals per month (Wednesdays)
• Play for one Sunday per month (two services on that Sunday)
• Participate in additional rehearsals and performances for special programs, such as Christmas (December) and Easter (Spring)
Schedule:
• Rehearsals: the two Wednesdays prior to the 4th Sunday
• Sunday Services: 4th Sunday of each month (August through April)
• Special Programs: Additional rehearsals and services as needed in November and the spring season.
Qualifications:
• Proficiency in piano performance
• Ability to follow the choral director and support various styles/genres of worship music
• Ability to play 4-part choir harmonies (e.g. hymnal or other 4-part choir compositions)
• Good sightreading ability
• Reliability and commitment to scheduled rehearsals and performances
Compensation:
• $300 per month (August through April)
