Throughout scripture and especially in the Psalms, God invites us to worship Him with singing and instrumental music. He is the Creator who delights in the praises of His people. God has given each of us the ability to praise and worship Him in one way or another. God specially calls many of us to the privilege and responsibility of leading worship through music as a servant ministry to His Church. Geary Randall, our Pastor of Worship, guides the various areas of our worship ministries.
During both Sunday morning services, occasional concerts and special events, the Chancel Choir ministers through the singing of hymns, anthems and songs in a wide variety of musical styles. Rehearsals for The Living Christmas Tree, an annual event, begin in September. The choir rehearses on Wednesdays, 6:45-8:00 pm and Sundays, 8:45 am.
Worship Singers/Praise Band
Through the use of instruments and voice, these small groups lead the congregation in the singing of hymns and contemporary praise choruses at both Sunday morning services. The praise teams lead on a rotating schedule and rehearse on Wednesday evening at 8:30pm.
The playing of handbells adds a distinctive blessing to the worship services and a beautiful way to “ring” praise to the Lord! Persons with or without previous experience are welcome to learn the art of playing these celebratory instruments. Rehearsal on Sundays, 5:30 and monthly on Sunday mornings. Choir Room.
This group of gifted musicians playing stringed, woodwind, brass, and percussion instruments, provide beautiful offertories and preludes for Sunday services. In addition, several of the instrumentalists accompany our hymns and praise choruses regularly. Rehearsals are every Wednesday evening following choir rehearsal. Audition required.
